Training: How to Co-Create Thoughtful Client Care Plans with Youth

When working with young people, co-creation and collaboration are paramount to supporting clients in defining and meeting their own goals. When we set goals for other folks based on our own conception of what is best, we often impose a set of expectations that fail to really affirm and uplift the needs of youth clients. Learn best practices for setting goals, success metrics, and benchmarks with youth clients, how to communicate along the way and create sustainably paced plans, and engage in an interactive mock care plan activity to get feedback in real-time from facilitators and fellow attendees.

Speakers:

  • Ellie Gordon, Youth Advocate and Consultant / Case Manager, Safe Place for Youth

  • Kendra Avila, Housing Manager, AYA Youth Collective
