Point Source Youth is seeking a collaborative, energetic, and innovative Manager, Events to support our rapid growth nationally in our work to end youth homelessness and to scale up meaningful solutions to end youth homelessness, with a focus on Black, Indigenous, youth of color, and LGBTQ+ youth.
We’re looking for exceptional talent to join our passionate, highly motivated, and rapidly growing team. This position requires a proactive, flexible, and entrepreneurial mindset suited to a dynamic organization that is continuing to experience rapid growth and transformation.
In this newly created position, the Manager, Events will report to and partner with the Director of Events to build and produce virtual and in-person gatherings that define Point Source Youth for partners, guests, and team-members past, present, and future.
The Manager, Events will support the current work of producing 4 annual conferences with over 3,000 attendees in addition to supporting the development and expansion of events and gatherings that support local community partners, youth advocates and leaders across the youth homelessness space and intersectional movements for liberation.
The Manager, Events will ensure that an anti-racist framework is integrated into all events work internally and externally. Enthusiasm for uplifting and affirming community-led movements, youth advocates and leaders centered on social justice and liberation work is essential.
Compensation
Point Source Youth is offering a competitive salary of $70,000, commensurate with the lived and professional experience and qualifications of the selected candidate. We provide an excellent benefits package including 100% employer-paid health insurance and a fully-funded Healthcare Spending Account equal to the annual deductible. Point Source Youth also provides a 401(k) with a 4% match, dental and vision insurance, and a monthly allowance for a home office and self-care. In addition to a generous PTO policy and holiday schedule, the Point Source Youth offices are closed for one week during the summer and three weeks at the end of the year.

Key Responsibilities Include:
Applying an intersectional and anti-racist lens to all work and programming that lifts up and centers Black, Indigenous, People of Color, LGBTQ+ youth, and all peoples whose identities experience marginalization, racialization and exclusion.
Working collaboratively with our Youth Advisory Council to ensure they are meaningfully, regularly, and collaboratively integrated and supported in our events work.
Ensuring that our four annual conferences on Solutions to End Youth Homelessness (Rural, National, West, and South) continue to meet and exceed our attendance, youth engagement, funding and resource creation goals.
Supporting the ideation, creation, and implementation of event programming.
Proactive project management and cross functional communication both internally and externally.
Troubleshooting issues and resolving problems quickly with internal and external partners.
Leading outreach and management of event community partners.
Leading communications with over 150 event speakers.
Leading communications with event program committees.
Supporting talent outreach for events.
Supporting collaboration with event vendors.
Supporting and managing event staff/volunteers.
Supporting Director of Events with scheduling, venue walk-throughs, and meetings.
Tracking expenses for each event, submitting invoices, and preparing budget updates.
Qualifications:
Relevant lived experience is both highly valued and considered a key part of an applicant's experience.
Demonstrated commitment to applying an intersectional, anti-oppressive, and anti-racist framework that ensures all work lifts up and centers Black, Indigenous, People of Color, LGBTQ+ youth, and all peoples whose identities experience marginalization, racialization and exclusion.
Demonstrated experience in event planning, project management, and/or production.
Extraordinary attention to detail, time management skills, critical thinking abilities, and a proven ability to apply those skills to their work.
Deep and proven creative problem-solving skills with the ability to be flexible and adapt to different personalities, work styles, and a growing, changing organization.
Proficiency with Google Suite (docs, sheets, calendar, slides, etc).
Strong writing skills.
Ability to multi-task and re-prioritize assignments in the face of multiple duties.
Excellent decision-making and risk forecasting skills.
Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
Ability to successfully multitask, and take full ownership of assigned projects

Travel may be required in 2022 and thereafter, to support our events, including our four annual conferences (Rural, National, Southern, and West).
