Funding the Movement Against Anti-Black Racism for Pride Month

Point Source Youth stands in solidarity with the Movement for Black Lives and those working to dismantle white supremacy. Our mission is to centralize and lift up the voices of Black and Brown queer youth and trans youth of color specifically, who are often the most marginalized members of the LGBTQ+ community.

As we enter Pride Month, we’re reminded that the first Pride was the Stonewall Riots in 1969 led by Black and Brown transgender activists like Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, against the backdrop of the civil rights movement.

THERE IS NO PRIDE FOR SOME OF US, WITHOUT LIBERATION FOR ALL OF US.

At the start of Pride Month, and in response to the horrific and on-going structural, state-sanctioned violence against Black and Brown communities—including the deaths of Nina Pop and Tony McDade, two Black trans individuals who died because of anti-black, anti-trans violence -- we call on funders and supporters to fund grassroots organizations led by Black, Brown, immigrant, LGBTQ+, low-income, and rural folks across the country, and to stand up to the brutality against Black and Brown people that has long plagued our country.

In honor of Pride month, please consider making donations to both grassroots and national organizations that are posting bail for arrested protestors and uplifting Black communities, LGBTQ+ and beyond.

Please let us know if there are additional resources we can add to these lists for consideration.
