Milo Edwards
Manager, Direct Cash Transfers as Prevention and Policy
Milo (He/Him/His & E/Em/Eirs) is a genderqueer young person with lived experience based in Eastern Washington state. He grew up in a small town of less than 200 people in northern Idaho and faced a great deal of adversity being the first out trans person at his high school, which eventually resulted in him fleeing the town he grew up in. Because of his experiences, he has a passion for advocating for LGBTQIA2S+ and QTBIPOC young people who are experiencing homelessness in rural areas. Milo began his journey in collaborating on solutions to end youth homelessness at the age of 17 when he co-founded the Washington State Youth for Youth board in early 2019. Through that board and his position as a youth advocate at a local drop-in center, Milo had helped create positive change for rural youth of Washington state with a focus on prevention and diversion. Milo joined PSY's Youth Action Council (YAC) in early 2020 where he remained a member until beginning his current position in November 2023. As a first-generation college student, he recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Washington State University in December 2023. Milo loves cartoons and anime like Steven Universe and Adventure Time, and he is always open to recommendations for new shows, graphic novels, and manga!
