Mourning, Loss, and Heartache: Grief Support for Youth

Nearly 215,000 young people under the age of 18 in the US, and nearly 8 million young people worldwide, have lost a primary parent or caregiver as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Not only has this increased risks of housing instability for young people but it’s also created an expansive endemic of grief. This roundtable discussion will center on how service providers can integrate grief and loss processing supports for youth as part of their service provision as well as what it looks like to support young people holistically and sustainably.
