Criminalization and Homelessness: The Intersecting Need for Abolition

Black, Brown, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) experiencing homelessness are often heavily surveilled, policed, and criminalized. Currently, the Atlanta Police Foundation is trying to build the largest police training facility in the US on stolen Muscogee land in Weelaunee Forest, a watershed surrounded by primarily Black residents who overwhelmingly oppose the project. Known as “Cop City”. Hear organizers discuss resistance efforts to #stopcopcity, and learn how to create and uplift abolition-centered spaces within your communities.
